Serious KOOKABURRA BUSINESS

"Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry, merry, king of the bush is he,
Laugh, kookaburra, laugh, kookaburra,
Gay your life must be."

Serious Kookaburra Business is a charming arrangement of the classic, well-loved Australian children’s song, Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree. The song was originally penned in 1934 by Marion Sinclair, to be sung as massed choral item at an international scout jamboree, hosted in Australia. Of course it is still sung today, often with comical variations of text!

This string setting presents the Kookaburra melody in a two-part round for violin and cello, with a harmony descant (Violin 1) and accompanying Bass/ Optional Cello 2 part.  The round appears twice with a short introduction, miniature interlude and codetta.

An ideal choice for younger players.

The folio contains:
Parts for String Orchestra (8-8-4-6-2)
Conductor's score
Optional Piano Accompaniment
