A delightful Celtic sounding tune in the key of E minor (Aeolian mode.) A SALTY SAILOR’S SONG has been written for Junior String Ensemble. It consists of three main lines, melody, harmony and bass, and a simple piano accompaniment.  The melody is lovely for students of various standards to play and the harmony is very easy. A cello melody is included for individual extension. A backing track, playable on midi sequencer is available as a further teaching aid.
