Caulderon

This programmatic piece describes the city of Caulderon: a mythical floating city. Long ago, according to the legends, Caulderon stood magnificently upon a cliff overlooking the ocean. It was filled with impossibly tall, shining spires standing above golden domes. Sunlight striking its spires is said to have blinded potential invaders. The people of Caulderon lived in health, wealth and safety derived from the city’s alchemy. They rode griffons and resided peacefully amongst a variety of friendly creatures.
Caulderon was known for its magic. The city was saved from collapsing into the sea by alchemical means and lifted into the air. Elfin legends state that the floating city would occasionally visit ‘other lands’, blown by the winds. The people of Caulderon would trade with the locals, selling their magical goods. Visits were never long and always at the mercy of the winds....
